How We Got Started

Don King began working in the concrete and masonry industry in the early 1980s. After becoming proficient in his field, he decided to branch out on his own to form Don King’s Concrete, Inc. in 1989. He built the company from the ground up — knocking on any door that might require the skills and expertise he possessed in the concrete industry.

Don maintained a vision of growth from DKC’s inception and reinvested the money he earned back into the business to support that growth. His confidence in his abilities, attention to detail, quality, timeliness, and dedication to customer satisfaction earned him an excellent reputation in the community.

That reputation provided a steady increase in volume and strong relationships with an ever-growing list of clients. Residential, multi-family, and light commercial projects continued to be awarded. Within two years the company was incorporated and the wise use of capital enabled DKC to become bondable, opening doors for a wide range of opportunities.

One opportunity leads to the addition of the masonry trade to the concrete services offered. Don King also took this opportunity to evolve his outstanding organization by employing the best personnel in their respected field. The team that he has assembled has progressed DKC from an excellent company into a superior company in the concrete and masonry industry. Today the company has relationships with some of the Nations most prominent developers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
